Apple Friands

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups ground almonds
  2. ¼ cup self raising flour
  3. 1 tsp baking powder
  4. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  5. 4 egg whites lighten beaten
  6. 120g butter, melted
  7. 1 medium red apple grated coarsely
  8. ¼ cup flaked almonds

Directions

  1. In Ventray Stand Mixer attach flat beater, blend ground almonds, flour, baking powder, cinnamon in low speed,
  2. Add in egg whites, butter, apple, using low speed combine all ingredients
  3. Pour mixture into friand pan, sprinkle with flaked almonds

Oven Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F, grease a friand pan
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the centre
  3. Leave friands in pan for 5 mins before removing and cooling on wire rack
