Gingerbread People Cookies

Celebrate Christmas with the tradition of gingerbread people cookies.

  1. ½ cup butter, room temperature
  2. ¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
  3. 1/3 cup molasses
  4. 1 large egg
  5. 2 tbsp water
  6. 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  7. 1 tsp baking soda
  8. ½ tsp salt
  9. 2 tsp ground ginger
  10. 1 tsp cinnamon
  11. ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  12. ½ tsp ground all-spice
  13. Frosting of your choice


  1. baking sheet
  2. parchment paper
  3. various shape cookie cutter


  1. Sift together all the dry ingredients
  2. In Ventray Stand Mixer cream butter, brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in molasses, egg and water
  3. Add in dry ingredients, mix until fully combined. Divide cookie dough In half, roll into disk shape, cover and refrigerate dough for at least 30-45 minutes
  4. Use cookie cutter to shape and cut the cookie, place on baking sheet 2’ apart

Oven Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F, line baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes, cool on wire rack completely before decorating
