Marble Loaf Cake

Vanilla, chocolate, classic marble loaf cake

  1. ½ cup melted butter
  2. 1½ cup granulated sugar
  3. 3 large eggs
  4. ¾ tsp salt
  5. 2¼ tsp vanilla extract
  6. 1½ tsp baking powder
  7. ¾ cup milk
  8. 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  1. 6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  2. 2 tbsp melted butter
  3. ¾ tsp espresso powder, or instant coffee mix


  1. 12' loaf cake pan


  1. Grease loaf cake pan
  2. In Ventray Stand Mixer, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy, beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Once all eggs have been added, beat until light and fluffy
  4. Add in salt, vanilla, baking powder, whisk a few times.
  5. Add in milk and alternate with flour.
  6. For Chocolate Batter
  7. Take 1/3 of vanilla batter into a separate bowl, stir in cocoa powder, melted butter, and coffee powder
  8. Spread and layer loaf pan with vanilla batter, dollop chocolate batter.
  9. Add a large portion of vanilla batter, add in the remainder of the chocolate batter
  10. Top off with the rest of vanilla batter, you now have three layers of vanilla, two layers of chocolate batter
  11. No need to swirl before baking

Oven Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Bake for 50 mins on middle rack of oven
  3. Rotate pan half way through baking, test with a toothpick to see if it's ready
  4. Remove from oven, cool for 10 mins before transferring to wire rack to cool completely
