Orange Cardamom Pancakes

Ground cardamom and orange zest, pancakes better than Ihop

  1. 2 cups all purpose flour
  2. 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  3. 2 tsp baking powder
  4. 2 tsp ground cardamom
  5. ½ tsp salt
  6. 1½ cup whole milk
  7. 2 large eggs
  8. 1 tsp orange extract
  9. 1 tbsp fresh orange zest
  10. 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  11. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  12. extra butter
  13. maple syrup


  1. frying pan or nonstick skillet


  1. Whisk together dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, cardamom, salt
  2. In Ventray Stand Mixer bowl, beat milk, eggs, orange extract, vanilla extract, orange zest and butter, until just combined
  3. Add in dry ingredients, beat until batter completely smooth
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet, add butter, wait until melted.
  5. Add a spoonful of pancake batter, cook over medium heat.
  6. Flip pancakes when bubbly on top and golden underneath. Cook both sides for about 2 minutes or more.
  7. Repeat and cook the remaining batter, add more butter and adjust the heat in between
  8. Serve pancakes with butter and drizzle maple syrup on top
